Sexology
Sexology? Meet Dr. Jenni Skyler!
I had never heard the term sexology until I met Dr. Jenni Skyler at Tobi Hunt’s lunch and network. Dr. Jenni is a young and sassy clinical sexologist, educating women and men on healthy sexuality. Dr. Jenni takes the charge off of talking about one of our major societal taboos- SEX and, more importantly, INTIMACY -with SELF and other. It’s easy to connect and engage with Jenni’s refreshingly candid style and upbeat attitude. Being a throwback to some Victorian prudery myself I challenged myself by inviting Dr. Jenni onto my show. And it was well worth getting over myself to chat it up with her!
Dr. Jenni runs The Intimacy Institute. Catch her weekly column, Sophisticated Sex, in the Boulder Weekly.
Dr. Jenni’s interview airs this week on Channel 22 Monday 6pm. Thursday 6pm, and Saturday 11am

Melting into the moment: but who’s doing the dishes?
This week on Priestess Entrepreneur: Kitchen Table Conversations, I am interviewing clinical sexologist, Dr. Jenni Skyler, creator of The Intimacy Institute right here in Boulder, Colorado. You don’t have to live in Boulder to learn from Dr. Jenni! This interview is jam-packed with fascinating information that just might get you thinking about the value of sexual intimacy, with self and another, in an entirely different way.
In this segment of the interview Dr Jenni and I discuss the importance of arousing desire. Interestingly it can be something as simple as chores being taken care of, perhaps by the partner! I always say I love a man with a vacuum cleaner! If I don’t have to vacuum I can relax more and be open to other, entirely more interesting things. It’s challenging to relax and be open to intimacy when the endless to-do list only becomes more and more endless, with sex being just one more thing that needs-to-be-done. Taking care of some of those chores can free up time and energy for intimacy.
Why is it so important to be sexual? What is the value of orgasm? Check out the video clip to tap into Dr. Jenni’s wisdom! If you think your gym work-outs are important, you might start thinking of way more fun ways to get that cardio system up and running!

The Priestess says….
Sexual healing begins with yourself
This whole week is Dr. Jenni Skyler, clinical sexologist week on Priestess Entrepreneur: Kitchen Table Conversations.
Really! She is not to be missed.

Clear-headed, intelligent, and non-judgmental beyond what I could imagine, Dr. Jenni holds the space for clients to heal the relationship with their own sexuality. Sexuality is still a great taboo subject in our culture, hence the need for get it out in the open. So many of us did not learn healthy sexual relationship with ourselves and then, of course, how can we have healthy sexual relations with another? The Priestess knows that all healing begins with the self.
For many women what ends up being less than satisfying sexual expressions stems from unsatisfying relationship with the father figure in our lives. Dr. Jenni goes way beyond the presenting issue (like in-orgasmia or lack of sexual interest) to the core of the problem. As a clinical sexologist and therapist Dr. Jenni’s work is solution-focused. In solution-focused therapy Dr. Jenni creates a safe and nurturing environment for clients to express their most vulnerable concerns, creating a way out of the pain and confusion, tapping into skills and tools the client already has but may not realize are there all the time!
