Isn’t all change somewhat unexpected?

We humans like to think we embrace and welcome change. We do, kind of, but then need lots of time and processing to adjust and recalibrate our systems to new vibrational frequencies and new concrete circumstances. Sometimes we know something is going to happen, like a child graduating from high school and then leaving home, or events happen in our lives with a BAM! Surprise! like a death of a loved one or winning the lottery. Whatever the change, we humans are creatures of habit and we get jolted and flung about in the winds of change, invited or not.

It is true that as a species we are masterfully created to adapt, grow, and change with changing circumstances.  As individuals…it can be painfully difficult to flow with what can feel like the vagaries of life. We really like the comfort and security of the familiar. When we are wrenched out of the familiar or when we consciously wish to make a life change  is the perfect time to work with a coach.

Susan Osborn, in response to some pretty extreme life-altering experiences on her own karmic soul journey, has directed her coaching to working with exactly this: dealing with unexpected change. Susan and I chat up her unique coaching work on Priestess Entrepreneur: Kitchen Table Conversations interview re-airing this week on Comcast Channel 22. The show is airing on Monday and Thursday at 6pm and Saturday at 11am. You can also watch the show any time at all by clicking on http://vimeo.com/12340832

As part of Susan’s coaching she offers the Passion Test, a powerful tool to assist in aligning with your goals. Check out the interview and learn more about Susan’s work. Coaching isn’t just for athletes any more! We all have some vision we have for our lives.  Coaches help us get there with more ease and grace.

Revisiting with Susan Osborn, Guide through Unexpected Change

Due to a scheduling glitch (and it wasn’t even Mercury retrograde, go figure) the inspiring interview with Susan Osborn, Life coach through the inevitable series of unexpected changes on the river of life, will be broadcast this week on Channel 22. Of course the interview can be viewed in its entirety online by clicking on the VIMEO link:  http://vimeo.com/12340832

Susan’s story will touch your heart, inspiring you with courage to face the curious and sometimes downright, freaking-you-out, unexpected challenges life throws your way.

Last night as I was trying to keep my terriers calm through the over-the-top testosterous outpouring of fireworks in my neighborhood, which are clearly more for getting away with  illegal activities in the loudest possible way (will I NEVER move from this college boy infested neighborhood?!)  Fireworks

I was flipping through the HBO channels (which I now get because it’s cheaper to receive HBO than not in my present tentative agreement with Comcast) I came upon the movie 21 grams. I have seen pretty much every movie in the genres I prefer but had missed this one somehow. The movie was exactly about unexpected change, the most challenging kinds. The cast was the best: Sean Penn, Naomi Watts (who deserved an Academy Award for that role), and Benicio Del Toro. I was deeply moved by the movie – 21 grams being the exact amount of weight we lose immediately upon death. Weight of a soul? Who knows?

The unexpected is the only thing we know for sure is to happen. Asking for help and support along the way seems the only sane thing to do. More on that in the Priestess Entrepreneur interview with Susan Osborn. http://vimeo.com/12340832

Fearless Guide on the River of Unexpected Change

I have been thinking a lot lately about unexpected change. Unexpected change can show up in all different ways, scanning the entire spectrum of our experiences. You can meet the love of your life at the freezer section at the grocery store wrestling over the last container of Haagen-dasz coffee ice cream -extra fat – or you can lose all your  investments with a market downturn. You can win the lottery ( I hear some people win it twice. Once guy won the lottery AND the scratch -off ticket bazillions in the same day!) or you can a be diagnosed with a fatal illness.

Whatever it is that comes your way on any particular day you can pretty much count on it not being exactly what you thought it would be. That’s LIFE- ever changing, ever unfolding, always a surprise, often miraculous. Personally I like to chat about what is occurring in life and what part I have in making that all happen. What parts do I control (hardly any – mostly my thoughts and
my reactions) and what parts do I absolutely have no control over ( most everything)? A coach is a great person to bounce ideas off of and work things through with (excuse the dangling participles).

A coach is a great aid on the journey of life. Kind of like a river guide. No way are you going to venture down a river without a guide. And believe me, the river of LIFE is way more wild these days than the Colorado River bookin’ it through the Grand Canyon. My suggestion is FIRST get an astrology session ( with me!) to get your own personal map of the river of your life, then get yourself a good coach (guide) to help you navigate the tough patches.
